QuickBooks for HVAC service businesses
Service calls, equipment installations and agreement receipts can become difficult to distinguish inside an inherited file. Tidwell brings QuickBooks ProAdvisor expertise to organizing those workflows before reports are used for decisions.

Give equipment and service activity separate categories
Review the chart of accounts against the work you actually sell. Distinguish equipment-related purchases from shop supplies and recurring overhead. Keep agreement balances in the treatment directed by your CPA, with an external schedule when needed to explain future visits.
Pilot an installation in Projects
QuickBooks Online Plus and Advanced include Projects. Start with an installation that has a customer estimate, equipment invoice and approved labor information. Confirm that each entry reaches the intended job and that service callbacks do not silently inflate another installation’s results.

Check credits before trusting the installation margin
Match supplier returns to the original equipment purchase. Compare bank and card activity to statements, then investigate missing or duplicate entries that affect reconciliation. A cleanup review should identify which old jobs need correction and which entries require management clarification.
