Wine output and a smaller grape crush

Wine production needs records that explain both inventory and cash. Track purchased grapes, cellar costs and finished goods separately from tasting-room receipts. A smaller crush can change production spending without changing the timing of debt or rent payments. Tidwell can help connect harvest payroll with the winery's monthly reporting.

  • Paso Robles AVA wine industry and wine tourism generate $2.8 billion in output ($2.6 billion in SLO County), nearly 9,000 jobs including 2,900 in wineries and 1,700 in vineyards, and $327.8 million in tax revenue (Beacon Economics).
  • Central Coast grape crush fell from 526,670 tons in 2023 to 340,865 tons in 2024; Paso Robles was heavily impacted by a late October heat wave.

Local road repairs and airport taxiway funding

Roadwork and airport work should retain their own contract numbers, billing schedules and labor files. For the taxiway, keep the grant-funded project distinct from ordinary airport operations. For street work, compare invoices with the specific repair package rather than the citywide annual plan. We can discuss certified payroll alongside those project records.

  • Five-year local road repair capital plan funded by Measure I-24; annual street repair spending to rise from avg $5.1 million to about $15.4 million. Amount recorded: about $15.4 million per year. Source status (2025): adopted Sept 2025. Agency: City of Paso Robles.
  • Taxiway A rehabilitation, Paso Robles Municipal Airport (construction phase). Amount recorded: $3.895 million FAA grant. Source status (2026): grant announced Aug 2026. Agency: City of Paso Robles (FAA AIP grant).

Completed Measure M education facilities

Completed preschool and aquatics work belongs in the historical school-facilities record. A contractor closing an education project can reconcile remaining supplier credits and customer retention before archiving it. Keep later work under a new scope so old balances do not get confused with a fresh award.

Wine and roadwork questions

How should a Paso Robles winery prepare for a bookkeeping review?

Bring inventory summaries, grape purchases, sales-channel settlements and approved harvest time. Those records help connect production costs with finished goods and cash receipts.

Should airport work share a ledger with city road repairs?

Give each contract its own project code and retain its reporting instructions. The airport funding and local road plan describe different projects, even if the same crew works on both.
