How an engagement starts
Bookkeeping engagements begin with a $250 scoping review. If the books need cleanup, we then provide a fixed-price cleanup quote before moving into a monthly plan. A typical catch-up cleanup runs $2,000 to $2,500, including the $250 scoping review. Each step has its own written proposal.
Monthly bookkeeping
Monthly bookkeeping ranges from $500 to $3,000+ per month, set by transaction volume and level of service. Our monthly bookkeeping engagements start at $500 a month.
Payroll
Payroll service ranges from $125 to $750 per month. Payroll clients sign up for monthly recurring services.
Certified payroll
Certified payroll ranges from $150 to $2,000+, set by the number of projects and payroll frequency. We define the scope in your proposal.
We take on a limited number of new certified payroll projects at a time, so each one gets careful review.

- Account activity and transaction volume
- Number of entities and accounts
- Payroll headcount and frequency
- Number of public works projects
- Cleanup depth and level of ongoing service

The $250 review lets our team understand your account activity, existing records and service needs before proposing cleanup or a monthly plan. Each step has its own written proposal.
Is cleanup a fixed price?
Yes. If your books need cleanup, we provide a fixed-price quote after scoping, and most catch-up work lands in the $2,000 to $2,500 range with the scoping review included. Cleanup and monthly bookkeeping each have their own written proposal.
Do you prepare income tax returns?
No. We work with your CPA, who handles income tax returns. We handle quarterly and annual payroll tax filings, including Forms 940 and 941 and California equivalents.
Can everything be handled remotely?
Yes. We work remotely, with meetings at our Atascadero office by arrangement. Remote payroll uses direct deposit; paper checks are not offered remotely. Accounts are handled by multiple team members.
