QuickBooks for retail stores and register settlements
A register total and a bank deposit describe different steps in the same sale. Tidwell’s QuickBooks ProAdvisor expertise helps retailers set up the intervening records so store reports can be traced back to source activity.

Choose the sales entry before connecting the bank
Document whether the register posts a daily summary or another approved sales record. Create a consistent place for refunds, card fees and unsettled receipts. Decide how gift-card balances and inventory adjustments will be handled with your CPA before importing historical totals.
Compare shops with location tracking
QuickBooks Online Plus and Advanced offer location tracking for different offices, regions or business locations. For a retailer with multiple shops, test a location on representative sales and expenses and inspect the resulting reports. Shared costs need an agreed allocation method; a report filter cannot make that decision.
Work backward from an unexplained deposit
Pull the processor batch and register report for the settlement date. QuickBooks identifies incorrect statement balances, missing entries and duplicates as reconciliation issues. Clear those differences from evidence, then check whether sales were recorded by both an import and a bank-feed entry.
