QuickBooks for landscaping routes and installations
Maintenance visits and installation work need different views of the same file. Tidwell’s QuickBooks ProAdvisor expertise helps organize categories, reporting dimensions and corrections around the records your office can supply.

Keep the chart of accounts useful across seasons
Separate plants and job materials, equipment upkeep and general operating expenses. Decide how customer deposits and large equipment purchases should be treated with your CPA. Use consistent customer references for recurring visits so route receipts remain traceable.
Choose between route classes and installation projects
Classes can categorize transactions by segment, while QuickBooks Projects supports job-related activity in Online Plus and Advanced. Consider classes for recurring service groups and projects for substantial installations. Test the proposed structure before recoding older transactions.

Investigate seasonal carryovers in the file
Review unapplied receipts, unused supplier credits and charges left against finished installations. Reconcile the bank and cards to their statements. Intuit cautions that a reconciliation adjustment should be discussed with the accountant; a forced balance can hide a correction the next season still needs.
