Vegetable distribution and agricultural processing

Production, packing and distribution expenses need separate categories even when the same shipment moves through all of them. Reconcile freight and customer deductions to the shipment record, and keep equipment purchases identifiable for the CPA. The industrial-park history describes infrastructure context rather than current funding available to an individual business.

  • Gonzales is a center for Salinas Valley vegetable production and distribution: lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, strawberries and wine grapes.
  • Phase I (about 70 acres) of the Gonzales Agricultural Industrial Park was completed in 2005 with a grant from the federal Economic Development Administration; Phase II (about 35 acres) is planned.

School facilities and proposed community space

The elementary and high school measures cover different facilities districts. Keep those identifiers intact instead of treating the bond amounts as one interchangeable fund. A proposed community center is another planning stage; build a contractor's cash forecast from signed scopes and approved billings rather than the sum of local proposals.

  • Gonzales Unified School District: Measure J (elementary SFID) (2020) passed. Bond amount: $24.5 million.
  • Gonzales Unified School District: Measure K (high school SFID) (2020) passed. Bond amount: $37 million.
  • Proposed Gonzales Community Center Complex. Source status (2026): Proposed. Agency: City of Gonzales.

Working with the Atascadero team

Gonzales's population is 8,492 (ACS 2024). Census PEP records population change of -3.5% from 2020 to 2025; this uses a different Census series from the ACS count.

Gonzales is about 82.4 miles from our Atascadero office, measured in a straight line. We work remotely, with meetings at our Atascadero office by arrangement.
