County energy production and logistics activity

The energy and agriculture descriptions are Kern County context. A Bakersfield supplier can keep recurring deliveries, equipment work and transport charges in distinct accounts so customer deductions do not hide the cost of service. Reconcile receivables by contracting entity and use the company's actual orders when planning payroll and cash.

  • Kern County is described as the largest oil-producing county in the lower 48 states and the nation's leading producer of pistachios and carrots.
  • Kern warehouses have access to the ports of Los Angeles/Long Beach and Oakland; logistics identified as a growth sector.

Park equipment and the city capital plan

A park equipment replacement program includes purchases and installation costs that may reach the ledger at different times. Track deposits against the correct asset or project, and retain approved field hours with the installation scope. The wider capital plan is planning context, not a substitute for the contractor's award documents.

  • Measure N-funded replacement of play equipment at 12 city parks. Amount recorded: $4 million. Source status (None): groundbreaking reported. Agency: City of Bakersfield.
  • FY 2026-27 Capital Improvement Plan (streets, park rehabilitation, fire station maintenance, sewer and storm drain, facility modernization). Source status (2026): presented to Planning Commission June 18, 2026. Agency: City of Bakersfield Public Works.

Separate school districts and construction packages

High school and city school district measures identify different customers and facilities programs. A contractor should preserve that distinction when creating job codes and collecting time. Keep changes attached to the campus and scope that authorized them, then compare project billings with the costs incurred there.

  • Kern High School District: Measure K (2016) passed. Bond amount: $280 million.
  • Bakersfield City School District: Measure N (2016) passed. Bond amount: $110 million.
