Design a clearing account around the payout

Sketch the path from platform summary to deposit. Set up distinct accounts for sales, refunds, platform charges and amounts awaiting settlement under the CPA’s accounting instructions. Decide which system supplies each entry so the bank import does not repeat revenue already posted elsewhere.

Use channel classes where they answer a question

Classes can group transactions into meaningful segments, and QuickBooks provides sales and profit-and-loss reports by class. Those features can support channel comparisons when the subscription and coding method fit. Test how a mixed settlement is divided before relying on a channel margin.

Clean up the connector history in batches

Work through one settlement period at a time, comparing gross activity, holds and adjustments with the eventual deposit. Missing or duplicated entries are recognized causes of QuickBooks reconciliation differences. Preserve the original export and investigate the source of an error before removing anything.

Hand off exceptions instead of changing tax treatment

Create a review list for inventory valuations, marketplace tax amounts and unresolved reserves. Your CPA directs their treatment. The setup engagement should finish with an agreed posting routine and reports that reconcile to the source summaries.
