The Team

Candace

Owner Candace Tidwell has been in the bookkeeping and accounting field since 1998. She is a long-time resident of Atascadero, and many of her more than 350 clients have been with her for over fifteen years.

Candace continues her education by attending Accounting Seminars all over the US through QuickBooks and Sleeter Group.

Leah

Leah graduated in 2010 from Columbia College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She started with TBS in 2008. Larger businesses are her forte. She has worked with many startup companies to help them get going on the right foot and assists with all legal requirements.

Kim

Kim started with Tidwell Bookkeeping in 2013. She was born and raised in Paso Robles. She joins the team with much QuickBooks experience. She spent 11 years at her previous employment as Operations Manager. She handled the production, ordering, customer service and bookkeeping. Kim graduated Cuesta College with an AA in Business and Pre-Nursing.

Mekenzi

Mekenzi joined us in January 2018, graduated Cal Poly 2003 with a bachelors in English. She has 18 years of bookkeeping experience. She has continued her education with accounting classes at Cuesta and is QBO certified.

Macy

Macy is our “Payroll Goddess.” She runs over 85 clients payroll needs without a hitch. From Out of State to Prevailing Wage, one employee to 50 employees. She is in charge of our payroll dept including weekly, bi weekly, monthly payrolls, payroll taxes, quarterlies and Work Comp.

Michelle

Michelle merged with us in June 2016 from another local bookkeeping service, Systems 42. Michelle has been doing bookkeeping and QuickBooks for many years. She currently runs our restaurants and other local businesses with much ease. She has worked many of her clients for more than 10 years.

Vanessa

Vanessa started her career in accounting in 2002 while attending Cuesta College. With almost a decade of experience as a Controller and HR Manager, she specializes in small to mid-size companies. She has taken on some of our largest "Clean Up" accounts and enjoys the challenge of getting it right.

Gretchen

Gretchen has extensive knowledge with QuickBooks Online, Excel, Word, and Outlook. She has completed courses in Finance and Basic Accounting Principles and has worked closely with customers, clients, employees and management for 30+ years. From Set-up to Clean-up, she can do it all.

Lisa

Lisa started with Tidwell after 18 years in the Grocery industry. She started at Tidwell in 2017 and has increased her bookkeeping knowledge with Accounting classes at Cuesta. She has worked her way through many project accounts and maintains restaurants to HOA’s daily.

Megan

Megan came to us in January 2020. Her background in Banking, Admin and Bookkeeping has been a great asset to the company. She has attended Cuesta College and is QBO certified. Her clients are very diversified and she loves a challenge and clean up.

Carly

Carly was born and raised in Paso Robles. She started her career in bookkeeping in 2006. She took Cuesta business classes as well as Excel and Microsoft Word courses. She is very organized and thorough. She loves streamlining processes to get the job done more efficiently. It has been 16 years of experience with QuickBooks and specializing in construction bookkeeping.  Payroll for 15 years. She came to us August 2020 and will never leave.

Daina

Daina started in banking when she was a teenager. Loves kids, used to own her own daycare, went back into banking and decided to go into management then joined Tidwell in May 2021. Her management skills have been a great addition to the Team. She is QBO certified and has no problem learning new things.

Mallory

Mallory joined the team in August 2020. Born and raised in San Luis Obispo, she brings 5 years of experience with her. Being the person she is, she is always happy to greet any client who comes through the office. She is a people person and ready to take on any task given to her.

Jennifer

Jennifer came to us right before Covid in Feb 2019. After running her own business for 17 years she knows how it's done and can tackle all of it. She works large corporations to the small mom and pop businesses. Always available to take on and help with any thing and everyone. Her specialty is Multitasking.

Lindy

Lindy has her degree in Business admin with concentration in Accounting. Her experience comes from Wineries since 2012. Accounting Support to Staff Accountant she has worked her way through it. She now runs one of our largest accounts single handedly.
